Week 4 Will start doing some doubles here and there to maintain and increase mileage smartly.  Met up with Elliott Freider and Carlos Martins on Saturday to ATTEMPT to workout with them.  Elliott coming off a solid 2:26 fall Chicago Marathon and Carlos recently coming off a 1:08 Half Marathon.  So the workout would be more advanced to my fitness, so I did what I could.  As the workout was designed to do 3 x 3000m! 72 Total

Week 5 Had an okay week, mentally needed a break and figured it would do me good - have been feeling really tired and sluggish lately in runs - just going through the motions.  Want to avoid getting run down and figured taking a day or two off would allow me to come back a bit rejuvenated.  Interrupted sleep is the worse for me, with having to get up to run at 5:00am and with Marianne getting up to feed Andrew - I would make sure she was okay before nodding back off... 42 Total

Week 8 Had an okay week, tried doing repeats on the roads, which is always tough to do.  But managed to keep them honest with Garmin GPS watch.  Saturday ran the 4-miler in Central Park, to try to turn legs over with no speed workouts.  Went fairly well, held my own for 2 miles and recovered to come home strong with last mile. 73 Total

Week 9 Nice week, most of running done on treadmill, with one solid workout on the track.  Felt pretty good in workout, supposed to be in 5:15/mi, but felt a groove at 77sec/400's, so stayed with it.  The race was a surprise to see I felt okay.  This wind made it very difficult, and wasn't sure of fitness as have really only been running distance, and last week's 4miler was very tough, but managed to stick it out with Carlos Martins and out-kick Fouzi at the end to win the 20km. 83 Total

Week 10 With 10 weeks to go, so far feeling pretty good with where I am still to start fine tuning and incorporating some more solid workouts, and faster races over time.  Hit the treadmill a fair amount of time, last week and will do so this upcoming week, due to Marianne being out of commission with surgery, have to sacrifice a bit by running indoors for just a short bit.  Able to do a solid long double, which should become a staple in the upcoming weeks for strength, and then hit a solid workout on Friday of 6 x 1mile repeats. 80 Total

Week 11 Very windy week, workout was thrown out the window, put it off a day to see if wind would die down.  The wind took so much out of me, in an attempt to do track workout, had to take a day off to allow legs to gather themselves and mentally needed the break as well.  Saturday was a nice run, and great to be back at Piermont Road, running an 18 miler, with last 10miles in 57:04. 78 Total

Week 12 Not too great week, but okay - as I was unable to complete workout, as need to take time and not rush threshold pace.  I need to stay right around 5:12 to 5:15 right now, and in time it'll will come.   Able to maintain a good mileage week with a solid long run with last 10miles of the 18-miler in 56:14.   Need to find a happy medium, as long run could still be in legs for track workout and not fully recovered.  Took an ice bath after long run, and will do every week, in hopes to allow legs to mend and recover and reduce any injury factor. 85 Total

Week 13

Finally able to get a solid workout in - the last two weeks have been disappointing as had to adjust workout due to windy weather and legs feeling beat up.  Next few weeks should be good stepping back on mileage, so legs should come back a bit.  I also took off on Sunday, to relax and have a 'family day' - needed to get away physically and mentally from running for just a day - Felt great!!  Looking forward to getting legs back under me in hopes of a solid performance in the 10k at Cherry Blossom.

Good week leading up to race, Wednesday's workout was a bit chilly as it had snowed earlier in the day, but cleared up, and stayed a bit cool.  Was planning on doing 5 sets, but because of race, only did 4 sets.  Capped off the week with a solid race, not the greatest time-wise, but got out there and competed!  Carlos and I finished 1-2!!

Week 17

Nice week, time to sharpen up and focus on racing fast now.  I believe Wednesday's workout to be on e of the toughest I've done by myself, basically dropped to the track when finished the 2nd 5km.  I actually thought I would feel a bit more fatigued on Saturday from workout, but felt okay.  Starting to get anxious, and need to stay calm, when ever I lower mileage always find it hard to fill void in day where would normally run more or do second run.  But need to start letting legs come back to me, and start feeling fresh again!!

Week 21 Tried not to think of the race the few days prior to avoid nerves building up.  Felt fantastic and in control the whole way, and Coming into Hamilton felt a small sign of a possible cramp developing, so backed off pace a bit, as I had a bit of a cushion to allow me to do so and just cruised in to win the race, coming through the Half Marathon in around 1:10:45.... 26 Total
